On Site Contract Java Developer
Newport Beach, CA Temporary $50.00 - $60.00/hr Onsite
Job Description

  • This is a 100% on site position in Newport Beach, CA
  • Hourly Rate is up to 60/hour, W2, no C2C or 1099 or Visa Sponsorship/Transfer
  • This is an open ended contract position
  • Must have 8+ years of experience with Java/Spring Boot, REST API, Oracle
  • Which technologies are a plus? AMPS messaging, Kafka or similar messaging platforms, AWS or other cloud platforms, Python, and AI-assisted development tool
  • Main responsibilities: Design, build, enhance, and support business-critical backend applications that support investment and operational workflows
  • Wealth management industry background would be nice
Primary Responsibilities
  • Partner with project managers, technical leads, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and develop applications that meet business and technical specifications.
  • Support and maintain existing systems, including monitoring performance and resolving operational issues.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot data- and software-related issues, implementing timely and effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and deploy new features and enhancements.
  • Create, update, and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge-sharing resources.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, plus 8+ years of Java development experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience within the financial services industry is preferred.
  • Strong experience with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, SQL, Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Linux, and microservices architecture.
  • Advanced SQL and database query expertise is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience designing and developing cloud-native applications and services.
